curiousity

Hey..............

I'll start out by saying how fun this lil club/group thingy has been.
We've had fun TRYING to do stuff; while we haven't done a thing.
I'm wondering if we should even have this group if we aren't going to do anything. I think if we have this group we are all going to have to sacrifice doing some things...like if everybody can meet on one day but only one person can't, that person should have to really think if what else they could be doing is important or not. I know planning has been a big issue in the past...especially this summer. I'm sorry, but doesn't it seem lame that none of us made an effort to do anything? Hmm? L-A-M-E. And before ya'll start abusing me, I realize that I didn't do anything either.
So can anyone give me an opinion? I want to keep this group goin, but now that I'm stationed in BG and, no offense Grace, my parents don't trust 16 yr. old drivers, I don't know how often my parents will bring me up if we don't do anything but gab. And you all know that no matter what when you put us all together thats what we do best.

Luv as always,
~tay

  • well, i think that you should keep up your group and make an effort to meet once a month and rotate leadership. like, roch one month and ahem another. then you should contact each other on this site over the month and when you meet know what to do. pick up trash, adopt a highway, protect rainforest etc.

  • yes i think that that is a good idea tal!!!! i agree with the idea that we shouldn't cancel if only one person can't make it....but our group is so small that we are like missing half the group then.

  • no we aren't we are only missing one person...and fyi we have been trying to meet once a month!

  • okay, really. I have no idea what to do. It's really hard. This is something I care about and everything, so I'm commited to it...even tho I haven't always been the most committed in the past. The thing is, what I think we really need to do is just appoint someone to schedlue something, then have them schedule it. And I don't think that everyone will be able to be there every time, but that's OK.

  • you are all crazy. sorry. but i think you are all making too big of a deal about all of this. now you are all going to kill me....

but i really dont think it matters if one person is missing, just plan a meeting, if you cant make it, you problem and go to the next.

  • okay you guys have GOT TO KEEP YOUR GOSHDARNED ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP GOING!!!! YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE!!!! you guys will find a way to work this out. remember, a little effort is always better than no effort at all. even just putting your group's name up on the web encourages people to start thinking more about the environment. you could even just use your blog as a way to convey info on what everybody in this world can do to help the environment, and to outline the parts of our world and environment that need the most help. but whatever you do DON'T REMOVE YOUR GROUP FROM EXISTENCE!!!

  • ok... i really don't know what to say... yes, i think we should keep this thing going... but at the same time i don't think our hearts are really in it... because if they were we would have gotten something done by now... right? already i know that my next year is going to be insanely busy... and you guys, i can't tell you how much i miss seeing you, i feel like we've grown apart over the summer, i sometimes wonder if you'll be the same people when we do see each other again. our blogs haven't really accurately represented ourselves i don't think, so i sometimes feel like the blogs are being written by people i don't even know... and then i wonder if these are really the friends i hung out with over the winter... or if we are going to be able to pick up where we left off... so what i'm trying to say is, i am going to want to talk to you guys when i see you. i'm trying to be honest. i think we need to screw the meetings and meet at the park and pick up trash, that way we can get something done while we talk.

  • hey... two words: define normal.

By Blogger Ruthie, at Friday, September 02, 2005 10:33:00 AM

  • oh, well you ppls should probably just do what whatshername sugested: meet at the park, pick up litter, and have your meeting then as you do it... that way you'll have done SOMETHING instead of feeling like failures on not having anything accomplished...

By Blogger Ruthie, at Friday, September 02, 2005 10:35:00 AM

  • good idea.

By Blogger Dryad, at Friday, September 02, 2005 5:50:00 PM

  • Normal: not getting funny looks for running up and down the road at night while carrying a big stick.

    Normal: not thinking that the world is totally messed up. {or is that normal?}

    Normal: not being me.

    Normal: i dont know.

By Blogger Dryad, at Friday, September 02, 2005 5:51:00 PM

  • Exactly, there is no definition of normal. no one is "normal", everybody is unique, so there is no such thing as normal.
